The 157 Group facilitates a number of Networks to support senior staff in similar job roles across our member Colleges. At present we have 12 Networks, for example for Curriculum, Policy, Teaching and Learning, among several others. Network meetings, which take place regularly throughout the year, are chaired by a Network member and agendas are determined by Network members, responding to key current priorities.
Networks fulfil a number of functions, as determined by each individual Network, including all or some of the following:
- Sharing practice and enabling networking
- Facilitating collaborative working
- Influencing/shaping policy activity
- Moderating/reflecting on policy, i.e. reviewing the impact/implications of policy on practice
- Contributing to reactive policy responses
In addition, the 157 Group has also established a number of peer review groups to support peer development among groups of 157 members. These groups tend to focus on key issues related to curriculum and quality, facilitating continuous improvement, with peer group members undertaking a wide range of activities such as reviewing each others self-assessment reports, undertaking subject-based reviews, and exchanging policies and strategies.
